The COVID 4P Log for Children’s Wellbeing

We’re helping to inform a global understanding of policies and practices to support children’s wellbeing in the light of the pandemic, by leading the COVID 4P Log study, in partnership with 17 international Key Partners.

Early on in the pandemic, we set out to support children’s wellbeing by learning from past epidemics to better inform COVID-19 policies and practices. We drew together themes and lessons into our first Learning Report: ‘Protecting Children’s Wellbeing in Response to COVID-19: Learning from Past Pandemics informed by a brief scan of the literature, and a series of international expert group consultation with humanitarian and child experts.

Throughout 2020, we developed the COVID 4P Log - an international smartphone app, which asked practitioners and policymakers’ about their experiences in real-time, across 5 continents and 22 countries, as they worked tirelessly to support children during COVID-19.

We’ve been excited to partner with some brilliant young peer researchers who are a part of the #COVIDUnder19 global study. With young people, we created a video to introduce our project to other young people, and we’ll be working with them to interpret our COVID 4P Log findings.

We’re developing a series of Learning Reports and articles based on 3330+ smartphone app responses. In partnership with the Global Partnership to End Violence Against Children, the first findings were shared widely though an End Violence Podcast and Solutions Summit Series event on 1 July 2021.

We are delighted to announce that the first in the series of the International COVID 4P Project Learning Reports is available now! Click to read COVID Learning Report: Challenges and Innovations
