This statement explains what personal information we collect via the website and email, and what we do with it.

Why we collect personal information

In order to stay in contact with you about our ongoing work to assess the impact of COVID-19 lockdowns on children’s wellbeing, we collect a small amount of personal information.

Uses of this information include:

  • Publicising research about the effect of COVID-19 lockdowns on children’s wellbeing;

  • Maintaining communication between ourselves and our partners;

  • Maintaining communication about the COVID 4P Log app;

  • Publicising research opportunities;

  • Responding to enquiries.

What types of information we collect:

We gather a very limited amount of personal information, used to personalise newsletters and send out communications.

These details include:

  • Names and email addresses;

  • Contact preferences (e.g. whether you have opted to receive newsletters);

  • Records of contacts (e.g. your requests or enquiries, event attendance)

  • Opinions you have offered, feedback, complaints, comments and/or suggestions;

The personal information collected may be stored in electronic and/or hard copy formats.

All information collected will be limited to the necessary details only and will not be used beyond the purposes indicated.

How we collect personal information

We collect personal information through one or more of the following data collection media:

  • Subscription to our newsletter via the form on our website;

  • Contacting us via email or webform

In general, we will acquire personal information directly from yourself. However, we may also collect and/or add information from other sources when it is lawful to do so and when that is likely to enhance the efficiency and relevance of the services that we provide.

Third parties

Personal information will be made available to those members of our team who need to see it in the context of their role and the purpose for which it was collected. Information may be held in MailChimp, a US-based newsletter platform. Where it is necessary to share data with external service providers, such as caterers or transport companies for conferences and events, this will be on a need-to-know basis only. If necessary for event planning, we may share your data with conference or event partners on a need-to-know basis.

Information Retention

Personal information submitted for the purposes of registration with our newsletter will be kept indefinitely for the purposes of maintaining contact. You have the right to request this information be deleted at any time by contacting covid19-log4p-project@strath.ac.uk.

Your Rights

You can make requests regarding your personal data by emailing iicf-hello@strath.ac.uk. You are entitled to request:

  • If and how your personal data are being collected and processed;

  • A description of the nature of the personal data that are being collected and processed;

  • Copies of, and/or access to, your own personal information;

  • That your personal information be corrected and/or amended where inaccurate or incomplete;

  • That your personal data be deleted or that the we stop using them once there is no longer a need to do so;

  • That we stop sending general communications;

  • That approval be withdrawn in any other instances where agreement to use of your personal information for a particular purpose was optional.
