COVID 4P Log Project Wins Scotland-Wide Award

Inspiring Children’s Futures is delighted to share the news that the COVID 4P Log project has received the 2023 Scottish Knowledge Exchange Award in the ‘Making a Social Difference’ category!

We are so pleased to receive recognition of the success of this exciting, innovative project collaboration of over 17 international key partners - with great thanks to our network of colleagues and friends, without whom none of this would have been possible:

Amihan Abueva, Child Rights Coalition Asia; Kristen Hope, Terre des hommes; African Child Policy Forum; African Partnership to End Violence Against Children; Barnafrid National Centre on Violence Against Children; Child Rights Connect; Defence for Children International; European Social Network; FICE; Global Social Services Workforce Alliance; International Child and Youth Care Network; National Child Welfare Workforce Institute USA; OECD; Pathfinders for Peaceful, Just and Inclusive Societies; REPSSI; UN Special Representative of the Secretary-General on Violence Against Children; The Observatory of Children’s Human Rights Scotland; and the #CovidUnder19 initiative.

At the onset of COVID-19, movement restrictions put a sudden stop to the ways we usually rely on to know how children were coping. Against this backdrop, the COVID 4P Log smartphone app gathered more than 3300 daily insights from adults supporting children during COVID-19 in 22 countries, on 5 continents. We discovered what people were seeing, on the ground, in real-time to generate and share useful resources. These include a series of 10 Learning Reports3 peer-reviewed journal articles, podcasts, videos, infographics, and more!

The support and partnership from our colleagues and friends around the world has aided our collective efforts to offer insights, solutions and innovations for policies and practices that support children during emergencies. Most importantly, these insights and innovations help to prepare us to respond to emergencies in the future, to fulfil our collective, collaborative vision that children and young people have what they need to reach their full potential, especially those facing adversity.
