Justice for Children, Justice for All
Programme Overview
Children are 30% of the world's population, but remain largely invisible in global justice efforts. To achieve justice for children, we must place children at the heart of the global movement for justice.
Our Justice for Children programme of work is a collection of projects and partnerships focused on building fairer, more responsive, child-centred justice. Through research, coalitions, collaborations, and targeted projects, we’re working to better understand children’s experiences and drive meaningful change.
From influencing international priorities to supporting practice on the ground, we are united by a collective global vision where justice is child-centred, where children are at the heart of the people-centred justice movement, and where equal access to justice for children is recognised as essential to achieving justice for all.
The Global Working Group on Justice for Children
The Global Working Group on Justice for Children is a partnership of international, multi-agency experts who promote a shared commitment to advance child-centred justice.
We work to place children, and their human rights, at the core of the people-centred justice movement, in recognition that without equal access to justice for children, we cannot achieve equal access to justice for all as outlined in SDG 16.3.

The Securing Children’s Access to Justice and Remedies through Local Empowerment in 5 Countries (5-SCALE) project seeks to make child-centred justice a reality by listening directly to children about their justice journeys, identifying what supports or hinders them, and incorporating their views and experiences into systemic reforms.
By centring children’s views and experiences in Colombia, Greece, The Philippines, Sierra Leone and South Africa, we aim to generate insights that drive holistic reforms, from grassroots initiatives to global justice transformation.

While children contribute the least to climate change, they bear the greatest brunt of its effects. We’re working to empower communities who are the closest to the worst effects of climate change – especially children and young people – ensuring they have a key role in climate justice and the realisation of children’s human rights.
We are taking forward a programme of work with the UN Special Rapporteur on Climate Change and Human Rights, Elisa Morgera, to drive the achievement of children’s right to a healthy, safe and sustainable environment.
