Satellite Event - The Role of Justice in Ending Violence Against Children: Towards a Child-Centred Approach
In the days preceding the 2nd Global Ministerial Conference on Ending Violence Against Children, partners are organising satellite events that will contribute to the overall ambition, inclusivity and impact of the Ministerial Conference.
We are delighted to announce that the OHCHR and ourselves, as part of the Global Working Group on Justice for Children will be contributing one such event on the 17 November 2026, in Manila, Philippines.
Taking place from 14:00-15:30 PST, we will hear from child rights experts from all over the world, including Signe Poulsen (OHCHR), Imma Guerras-Delgado (OHCHR), Grace Agcaolili (UNICEF), Cédric Foussard (International Centre for Justice Alliance), Jennifer Davidson (Global Working Group on Justice for Children) and Amihan Abueva (Child Rights Coalition Asia).

About the Theme
Justice systems occupy two simultaneous roles in the lives of children: They are powerful mechanisms for preventing and addressing violence against children, yet children can also experience violences through the delivery of justice itself. This session will explore these two realities and their implications for policy and practice.
