Global Working Group on Justice for Children
Strategy 2026-2030
The 2026-2030 Strategy sets out the Global Working Group on Justice for Children's vision, goals, strategic priorities, and collective approaches for advancing child-centred justice over the next five years.
The Strategy begins by establishing a shared vision: a world in which justice is child-centred, children are at the heart of the people-centred justice movement, and equal access to justice for children is recognised as essential to achieving justice for all.
To realise this vision, the Strategy sets out four long-term goals. These include recognising children as rights-holders and empowering them to prevent and overcome injustices; ensuring every child can access justice in an age-appropriate, inclusive, and accessible environment; promoting institutions, systems, services, and communities that are designed with children's rights, needs, and well-being in mind; and supporting children to be active participants and changemakers in social transformation.
The Strategy also identifies three interconnected Strategic Priorities that will guide collective action across the partnership: Intersectional and Intergenerational Partnerships, Multi-Level Advocacy, and Innovative Solutions. Together, these priorities provide a framework for strengthening collaboration, driving change across local, national, regional, and global levels, and advancing practical solutions to barriers that prevent children from accessing justice.
Each Strategic Priority is supported by a set of approaches and intended outcomes, creating a clear path forward for collective action and accountability to children. Through these Priorities, the Strategy seeks to accelerate progress towards accessible, inclusive, responsive, and child-centred justice.
Our Commitment
We are committed to making a tangible difference in the lives of children. Our Strategy is not just a plan but a call to action. Together with our partners, we will work tirelessly to close the gap between our collective ambitions and the lived realities faced by children every day.
We invite you to join us on this journey.
We’d love to hear from you!

The Global Working Group on Justice for Children (GWGJ4C) Strategy promotes a shared global commitment to child-centred justice.
This 2026-2030 Strategy builds on the sustained momentum of the global child-centred justice movement while responding to urgent and complex challenges that disproportionately affect children worldwide. The fragile state of multilateralism, rising insecurity, and compounding crises, including humanitarian emergencies, environmental degradation, socio-political tensions, and financial instability, demand coordinated action and tangible advocacy.
As the dedicated global partnership advancing child-centred justice, the GWGJ4C drives a child-centred approach aligned with the broader people-centred justice movement. This Strategy therefore serves as both a call to action and a roadmap for resilience, driving meaningful progress through structured coordination, prioritised collective action, and an intersectional, results-based approach.
The Strategy also marks a significant step forward in the ambition of the GWGJ4C. It reflects a shift from a primary focus on global advocacy partnerships to the development of a unified, strategic, and multi-level movement. Child-centred justice requires a whole-system approach, and the GWGJ4C is committed to expanding its efforts across grassroots, national, regional, and global levels. This will be achieved through sharper strategic focus, broader partnerships, and shared accountability to advance and secure child-centred justice. The Strategy also reaffirms a commitment to empowering children as changemakers in social transformation, recognising their participation as a defining characteristic of legitimate justice systems and as essential to ensuring fair, inclusive, and sustainable justice.
