Grassroots Consultations - Sierra Leone

About the Project

Defence for Children International (DCI Sierra Leone)’s Grassroots Consultation project focus is Girls and boys in conflict with the law, with a focus on traditional justice and a spotlight on girls’ experiences.

DCI is a leading child rights-focused and membership-based grassroots movement founded in 1979 to create social transformations in child justice, with a mandate to ensure effective implementation of children’s rights at the local, national and international level. DCI’s vision is that children are able to pursue a life in which they can enjoy their human rights with dignity, in a just and responsible society. DCI Sierra Leone drives transformation for children’s empowerment in justice systems by active participation of, and protection for, children in law and practice. Their active LEF-funded project enabling children and policymakers to shape child justice reforms will complement this proposed project and offer routes to immediate impact of the work through their grassroots justice initiatives.
