The Institute for Inspiring Children’s Futures is currently recruiting for three new positions to join our exciting and expanding team at the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow.
The University of Strathclyde’s IICF is an international research and policy implementation group with a collective vision of ensuring that children and young people have what they need to reach their full potential, particularly those who experience adversity.

We are looking for an excellent, energetic and experienced administrator to support our drive forward to grow our partnerships across a range of sectors and disciplines, across the University and around the world, to make a real impact for, and with, children internationally.

As the IICF Office Co-ordinator, you will develop and sustain excellent relationships with stakeholders; develop, adapt an navigate through systems to support flexible project management and operational delivery; and take a leading role in financial reporting and management processes.
You will have extensive skills in developing new initiatives and projects, leading in project implementation and review, and working in a team of interdisciplinary academics, professional services staff and external stakeholders.
You will work closely with others to help the University achieve its Strategic Vision through the work of IICF and in the process, to establish IICF in its work going forward.
The post holders will report to the Executive Director in the first instance, and the staff structure will develop further as we make more appointments.

IICF Project Manager: ‘Serving the Future’ Project
Salary Range: £33309 - £40927
FTE: 1 (35 hours/week)
Term: Fixed Term (24 months), with a further one year extension highly likely based on funding confirmation. Secondments welcome.

We are looking for a capable and experienced Project Manager to support our drive forward, and help grow our partnerships across a range of sectors and disciplines, across the University and around the world, to make a real impact for and with children. Suitable candidates will thrive in a leadership role within a fast-paced and mission-driven environment.
This post is initially and primarily associated with the Serving the Future partnership project, with the expectation that further opportunities are soon to arise related to other major projects.
The post holder will report to the Executive Director in the first instance, and the staff structure will develop further as we make further appointments.
About the Serving the Future project
The role will be part of team of researchers, facilitators, employers and national policy-makers working with collaboratively with business and utilising evidence and innovation to build create change. It is part of the new Serving the Future project, a partnership between with The Fraser of Allander Institute, the Institute for Inspiring Children’s Future at Strathclyde University, and the Poverty Alliance.
Serving the Future is a 3-year project that will work with employers and related public services, as well as people in poverty, to identify and implement meaningful change to reduce the risk of in-work poverty, and in turn, reduce the numbers of children living in poverty. It will be informed by a research programme working with people with experience of in-work poverty.
Please note this is a fixed term role with an expected initial duration of 24 months

IICF Research Assistant: ‘Serving the Future’ Project
Salary Range: £28756 - £32344 (pro-rata)
FTE: 0.4 (14 hours/week)
Term: Fixed (12 months)

Join an exciting and dynamic team at the Institute for Inspiring Children’s Futures, and help drive our research to achieve successful real-world impact, in this next phase of our work. This is an excellent opportunity to be part of an initiative that impacts on children and families’ lives throughout Scotland, with lessons to apply around the world.
We are looking to appoint a Research Assistant to assist in the delivery of scenarios research activities, as part of a new ‘Serving the Future’ partnership project team, and in particular, to manage a scenario project based in a co-production approach within the hospitality sector, working under the general supervision of senior colleagues.
You will co-produce scenarios with employers in the hospitality sector, and with people with experience of living in poverty; you will also conduct literature reviews, develop questionnaires, conduct surveys, collect and collate data.
You will manage and prioritise your own workload and ensure that all activities are completed to deadlines, and you will write up the results of your own research and contribute to the production of research reports and publications as part of this partnership project.
To be considered for the role, you will be approachable, adaptable and a team-player. You will have a higher degree, and sufficient knowledge, skills and experience in scenario planning and futures approaches. You will have knowledge of appropriate scenarios research methods, and excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to listen and engage, and to present complex information in an accessible way to a range of audiences. This post is primarily associated with the Serving the Future partnership project. The post holder will report to the IICF Project Manager.
