Inspiring Children’s Futures
Doctoral Research Centre
A new Doctoral Research Centre for Inspiring Children's Futures was established in 2021, initiated through the generous support of University alum, Leslie Stretch.
We draw together world-class scholars to study across disciplines, on complex problems that require the insights from multiple perspectives. Our doctoral students are working together on common questions as a mutually supportive and joint cluster of PhDs.
Driven by the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, and focused on children who experience the greatest marginalisation, we are generating new knowledge and applying this to policy, professional practice environments, and the places children live their lives.
Our focus is to improve the global challenge of responding to children’s needs, and realising their full range of rights and opportunities, ultimately to achieve peaceful, just and inclusive societies for all.
Our applied, real-world impact is a bold aim, and achieved through collaborative, multi-sectoral internal and external partnerships, both within the UK and internationally.
Studentship Applications
Self-funding applicants with suitable qualifications are invited to apply at any time, proposing a 3-page research project proposal, including the research analysis that these questions might constitute, and that align with our Principles, Attributes, Themes, Dimensions and Focus.
The Institute for Inspiring Children's Futures Doctoral Research Centre (DRC) funded studentship applications for Spring 2022 have now closed.
